The threshold of a residential building forms an important boundary where people transition from the public domain into the privacy of the home. As our population shifts toward apartment living in built up urban centres, the threshold becomes all the more important. Crown Group approached us to design and develop an interactive artwork for the entrance to their new Oasis development. They wanted a work that had impact, but would also blend into the architecture. Within the constraints of a tight budget, we created an interactive artwork that displays softly glowing silhouettes in response to the human form.

Being engaged early in the development process meant we were able to design the infrastructure on which the artwork would sit. This meant we were able to fully integrate the fixtures into the fabric of the building, providing a seamless experience.
