Riverside Quay
The north façade lighting project draws on the symbiosis between the unique south and north façades of Riverside Quay in Melbourne.
A series of 135 linear LED lights subtly trace the undulating seams of the north façade surface, across which moves the bold south façade graphic. This movement, together with the crosshatch of lights, create a vibrant abstraction of the south façade graphic and a gently regenerated experience of the space with each moment.
During the week, light will slowly ripple across the facade in a warm colour palette. The work illuminates the surrounding precinct, reflecting off adjacent building surfaces to bring an expansive nature to the work and extend the work beyond its physical boundaries.
This work draws tourists and patrons along the Southbank Promenade into surrounding laneways and public spaces, encouraging discovery.
