Boorloo Bridge Perth
RAMUS is illuminating the City of Light with creative visual content.
Situated 90 meters downstream from the iconic Causeway, Perth’s new Boorloo Bridge is a three-part pedestrian and cyclist bridge connecting Victoria Park, Heirisson Island and East Perth’s Point Fraser. RAMUS was engaged by Light Application to transform the bridge into a digital canvas, showcasing the city’s vibrancy with light and motion.

RAMUS produced and developed five streams of content, to reflect the dynamic range of visual expression present in the Perth creative community and to share stories that encourage a rich, vibrant perception of the ‘City of Light’:

- Commissioning Content – Solid Colours and Test Patterns, welcome people to Perth.
- Ambient Content – Abstract and figurative depictions of the light and life of Perth and Western Australia
- Event Content – Colour, movement and event-specific animations that mark annual or topical events
- Seasonal Content – longer-duration bespoke animations that depict and reflect seasonal shifts
- Artist Animations – with the help from CLA and the Elders group, RAMUS collaborated with a WA based artist Lea Taylor and developed an animation based on Lea’s artwork.

Upon completion of the construction phase, the RAMUS programming team activated the bridge by integrating RAMUS content onto this digital canvas. With precision and artistry, the team fine-tuned each content element onto the structure, unveiling a vivid artwork that celebrates Perth’s beauty and its culture.
